People and Culture Manager

Mogo is currently seeking an experienced People and Culture Manager to join the team. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the People and Culture Manager is a key partner in providing guidance and support to all functional groups at Mogo. The Manager will be responsible for the management of day-to-day people processes, including recruitment, performance management, health and safety, employee relations and compensation. No two days will look the same, and you will play a critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support and driving People and Culture functional excellence and process improvement.


What you’ll do:

  • Manage people processes including, but not limited to; recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management, health and safety, employee relations and engagement
  • Contribute to the development of the People & Culture roadmap and work closely with the Director and other leaders to ensure the prioritization of initiatives across the organization and alignment with Mogo’s values and strategy
  • Act as the subject matter expert on compensation and regulatory requirements and use that knowledge in conjunction with industry best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness across the organization
  • Own project management and documentation for all People and Culture related initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed accurately, on time and on budget
  • Develop and foster relationships at all levels of the Mogo team to ensure all teams have the appropriate level of People and Culture support


What you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managerial Human Resources roles
  • A university degree in a related discipline (Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration) and CPHR designation are required
  • Employment law and HR legislation knowledge (Canada and US), including employment standards, privacy, OH&S
  • Able to successfully engage with teammates at all levels of the organization and external stakeholders including candidates, vendors and the greater tech community
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with strong sense of urgency
  • Strong organizational development experience and the ability to problem solve and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with no fear of rolling up your sleeves
  • Strategic, with strong planning, detail-orientation and project management skills
  • Able to work toward a future vision or state without having all the necessary details
  • Deep integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information
  • Experience documenting processes and projects and professional level administrative skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starting, requiring little direction
  • Able to travel occasionally as this position may support departments across Canada
