Mogo is looking for a Junior Accountant to join the Finance Team. We are seeking a highly intelligent self-starter with a positive ‘get-it-done’ attitude, just itching for a chance to show what you can do. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, an excellent team player and have a strong work ethic.

What you’ll do:

  • Reconcile various bank accounts across all legal entities, identifying and resolving discrepancies, as needed. Accounts may include:
    • Operating accounts
    • Funding accounts
    • Receiving accounts
    • Control accounts
  • Record adjusting journal entries, as necessary
  • Assist with month end close
  • Prepare and maintain audit working papers
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure priority objectives are met
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects, as-needed
  • Contribute to a positive team environment.
  • A strong emphasis is placed on quality assurance and compliance, ensuring transactions are processed in accordance with internal policies.

 

What you’ll need:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or a related discipline
  • 3 years of various account reconciliation experience is preferred
  • Proficiency using Great Plains and MS Excel is an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Friendly and proactive demeanor
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
